This is a medium-sized garden created by the owners over 20 years ago
from part of a larger garden. The garden is situated a few
hundred yards from the Bristol Channel and enjoys a fairly mild
climate, although sometimes the winds are very destructive.
The soil is a free draining loam with a neutral pH.
The third of an acre oblong plot has been landscaped into several
'rooms' with tall evergreen hedges. Over the years plants and
ideas have been collected from many sources including visits to open
gardens, large and small, to nurseries and specialist plant
sales. Planting associations and garden features have been
gleaned from our favourite authors, and the result is an eclectic
collection of plants coupled with an element of surprise.
We have been listed in The
Good Gardens Guide for sixteen years.
The owners particularly enjoy raising their own plants and these
include tender perennials
and climbers. Every year many plants are raised from
cuttings and seed to furnish the garden and pots, tubs and hanging
baskets. The surplus plants are available from the nursery area
situated near the mature monkey puzzle tree on open days, or by
appointment.
If you would like to visit us please click on our opening times for
information. There is adequate street parking
and a toilet facility is situated near the nursery.
